OUR HISTORY

TINPLANT was founded in 1992 and began specializing in container forest plants after being acquired by the Hoelk family in 1999. The company was originally established due to the privatization of the experimental nursery and in-vitro laboratory of the former Institute for Beet Research Klein Wanzleben of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences in Berlin.

TINPLANT has a long history of experimentation and research and has participated in several international research projects in the field of renewable resources, particularly working with Miscanthus. Under the scientific direction of Dr. Martin Deuter, TINPLANT has bred over 1,000 Miscanthus genotypes.

To contribute to climate protection, TINPLANT decided to focus on container forest plants, as this cultivation method is particularly efficient and successfully practiced in other countries such as North America and Sweden. TINPLANT produces more than 1,000,000 plants annually and is in an expansion phase to build new greenhouses and transfer the benefits of this cultivation method to the growing German market.
